
Our Hackathon - Emerald Hacks

To further our goal of engaging middle schoolers in problem-solving techniques, we will be holding our first ever hackathon from September 23-25. Open to all students of any level of prior programming experience in grades 6-10 , our hackathon will be allow students to indulge in the field of CS and develop a wide range of skills. Additionally, as part of our hackathon, we will be hosting several, interactive workshops available for both beginner and intermediate programmers.

Hackathon FAQ
Where and when will the hackathon be held?
The Hackathon will be held virtually on September 23, 2022 till September 25, 2022. Intro is on September 23, from 8pm-8:30pm. Submissions close on September 24, 11:59pm.
How many people can be on a team?
Teams can be anywhere from 1-4 people. If you don't have a team and would like to join one, we will be assigning random teams as well.
Who is eligible to participate?
The Hackathon is open to all students in grades 6th -9th grade.
What are the prizes?
1st Place: $50
2nd Place: $40
3rd Place: $30
Random winners: $20
How is the Hackathon Structured?
There will be two divisions (intermediate and beginner), each which will have their own hackathon problems and programming workshops. Teams will have around 32 hours to complete their tasks which must be submitted by 11:59PM. Solutions will be judged by our team and other experienced judges and presented at the awards ceremony the following day!
